Anita Yolanda Massey Patterson, October 16, 1963 – August 1, 2022 was born in Goldsboro North Carolina to Alton Glenwood Massey and Nellie Marie Bowden Massey. She graduated in 1981 from James Madison High School in San Antonio Texas. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of the Incarnate in 1985.

Anita has been working in the nursing profession for over 36 years. She worked in various areas such as NICU, ICU, L&D, Telemetry, and Hospice.

Anita dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. She attended Metropolitan Baptist Church on a frequent basis.

Anita is preceded in death by her parents Alton Glenwood Massey and Nellie Marie Bowden Massey. Anita is also preceded in death by her husband of 30 years Micheal Albert Patterson.

She is survived by her sisters Lois Marie Williams and Diona Massey Wilson-Burks (Dell Burks), Daughter Michelle Patterson-Knox (Arlando Knox),  Grandchildren Arlayah Knox, A’Nevaeh Knox, Arlando Knox Jr., and Annastie Knox, nephew Dr. Mohktar Morgan (wife Danielle), nieces Charisma Bythwood (husband Willie), and Anniyah Burks.

She has left to cherish her memory many family and friends.
 

Memorial services for Mrs. Anita Yolanda Massey Patterson will be held 12:00pm, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Butler-Stumpff & Dyer Funeral Home Chapel.
